love is...

Love is everything to me. It's the way someone laughs, loving and hating their decision making at the same time, wanting better for them, and being partners and confidants. I think there are different forms of love too parental, platonic, and romantic. It's choosing each other, flaws and all.

- Dawnyes, Artist @dawnyes

Love is the act and the intention of giving a piece of yourself to belong to someone else eternally. A piece of yourself will belong to that person forever despite whatever avenue your lives direct you in. When you give your love intentionally to someone you never lose a piece of yourself but rather gain the intricacies of life that make you whole.

Yes, love is unconditional. Once love is present, the feeling is ever felt. You can remove one's ability to experience your love, but the feeling doesn't truly fade.

Love to me is the ability to pour into me. One of the ways I know someone loves me is they teach me, they share their knowledge and it's intentional both to help me learn and grow but also just to share their passions. I think teaching and helping people genuinely learn is a love.

Love is a parent telling their child, "That stove is hot. If you touch it, it'll burn you," and kissing their small, seared fingers when they do it anyways. Love is going out with your friends on a night that's perfect for staying in, just because they miss you. Love is saying, "No," and holding firm in your position because it's the best decision for you, even if it hurts others. There isn't one (or three) words, or a specific action to express your love. It's a culmination of pieces--big and small--that fit together to form a puzzle befitting of a life lived and a soul loved.

- Jakeyvia White, Writer @keytheelibrarian

Love is unmoving. It is protection, understanding without explanation, vulnerability. It is giving access to the deepest parts of your mind without fear of judgement and knowing that it won't be used against you. Love is trust. Love is to be seen and considered. It is making one's life easier purely because you can't stand to see them struggle. Something as simple as running a bath or being a listening ear. Love is childlike, it is innocent, curious, and spontaneous. Love is… love.❤️
